AKA Style

Alpha Kappa Alpha (AΚA) is the first Greek-lettered sorority established and incorporated by African American college women. The sorority was founded on January 15, 1908, at Howard University in Washington, D.C., by a group of nine students, led by Ethel Hedgeman Lyle. Forming a sorority broke barriers for African American women in areas where little power or authority existed due to a lack of opportunities for minorities and women in the early 20th century. Alpha Kappa Alpha was incorporated on January 29, 1913.

4 Years ago, I became part of this fantabulous sorority and am looking forward to many more.

Pretty Girl Style

In an attempt to step my personal style up to "classic status", I'm going to commit to dressing up a bit more; especially at work. Too often I have been mistaken for a student by both teachers (yelling at me to get to class) and students (who looked perplexed when I give them a directive) because of my casual attire (and I assume, my youthful exterior). We'll see how it goes...http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=128539830544421

Dorm Room Style (who knew!)

Sooooo.... I teach high school English and reading (bless me Father!), and after the day I've had, this room makes me fondly wish I were still in undergrad, living the simple life. "If I knew then, what I know now..." You know the rest!
